Chasing Deadlines, Catching Laughter: Our Team’s Joyful Journey
As college students, deadlines are familiar words to us. We used to do a lot of tasks but sadly used not equally to less stress. However, as my aspiring team and I embarked on our journey to create a web-based community platform for students aspiring to break into the tech industry, we took a rather unconventional approach. Instead of letting deadlines chase us, we decided to pursue them with laughter in our hearts.

Building Bridges, Not Walls
We will work for a long time, so being a teammate is not enough; we should be friends who can share laughs and jokes.
We knew we had a common goal: to create a platform to help students level up their portfolios and have an edge in securing tech internships. But we also recognized that we had to establish strong relationships within our team to achieve this goal. So, we set about fostering a culture of collaboration and mutual respect.
We made friends with one another, not just as colleagues but as individuals with diverse interests and passions. This created an atmosphere of trust and understanding, allowing us to work together effectively toward our common goal.
Every member had a distinct role, from developers and designers to project managers. We started by defining our roles, understanding their contributions to the larger goal, and respecting the importance of every task, no matter how small. We encouraged open communication, setting up regular check-ins, and prioritizing transparency in our operations.
Our Purpose
The purpose of our expedition was not just to create a tech platform but to build a community for students that foster growth, provides opportunities, and encourages collaboration. We envisioned aspiring as a beacon of knowledge and inspiration, assisting aspiring tech wizards in their journey to excel.
Our Goal
Our shared goal was clear from the onset: to develop an engaging, interactive, and inclusive platform for students looking to venture into the tech industry. We strived to create a space that allows users to enhance their portfolios or project experience, gain practical insights, and secure an edge in the competitive tech industry.
Meet the Team: Role Call
Andini, our CEO, Product Designer, and researcher, was the vision bearer and the captain of our ship. She charted the course of our project, brought creative solutions, and conducted extensive research to ensure our platform was user-centric and unique.
Marcel, the CTO, and developer, was our chief engineer, turning ideas into code. He was the cornerstone in developing a robust, efficient, and intuitive platform.
Deyuna (me), the CPO, wore multiple hats as a Product Designer and a marketer. I ensured our platform was aesthetically pleasing and functionally effective while spearheading marketing efforts to get our platform noticed.
Nahda, our Marketing whiz and Product Manager, balanced her dual role adeptly. She helped shape our product based on market trends and user feedback and formulated strategies to position it optimally in the market.
Sabyna, Dinda, and Ricky, our developer trio, were the architects of our platform. They converted complex requirements into streamlined code, ensuring the platform’s smooth operation and user-friendly experience.
Together, we sailed the sea of tech development, each playing our role to perfection, ensuring a joyful and productive journey for all of us!
The Joy in Helping Others
Our platform was designed to be an organic website where students can learn, educate, and give feedback together. Still, we saw it as an opportunity to help people beyond our immediate user base. We incorporated elements encouraging users to help one another, fostering a sense of community and mutual aid. This made our platform more engaging and brought us immense joy as we saw our creation assisting others to grow and succeed.
Learning and Growing Together
Our journey was not just about creating a platform but about growing together as a team and as individuals. We embraced a learning mindset, viewing every challenge as an opportunity to learn and improve. We shared our knowledge, insights, and experiences freely, fostering a culture of continuous learning. This enhanced our collective skills and expertise and deepened our understanding and appreciation of one another.
Looking Back to the Past Works
Our journey in tech development wasn’t just about moving forward; we made frequent pit-stops to look back. We held regular retrospectives, analyzing our steps and lessons from past sprints.
In our retrospectives, we celebrated our achievements and addressed our challenges head-on. We applauded successes, recognized efforts, and fostered appreciation within the team. We also discussed bugs, missed deadlines, and miscommunications, focusing not on blame but on solutions and improvement strategies.
These reflective sessions were more than a breather in our fast-paced journey. They were our catalyst for growth, enabling us to learn from our past, enhance our present efforts, and gear up for future challenges. This helped us in fostering a sense of shared responsibility, boosting our efficiency and bringing us closer as a team.

Throughout our journey, we made it a point to celebrate our successes, efforts, and progress. We celebrated the completion of a challenging task, the discovery of a new idea, and the resolution of a complex problem. We celebrated our achievements and our collective victories. These celebrations brought us closer as a team and instilled a sense of pride and satisfaction in our work. They reminded us of the value of our efforts and the impact of our work.

In our journey, we recognized the importance of a supportive environment. We ensured everyone on the team felt valued, heard, and empowered.
